ESPN.com’s John Clayton is reporting that the Denver Broncos have changed their position, and will actively seek to trade disgruntled starting quarterback Jay Cutler. Broncos owner Pat Bowlen released a statement saying that Cutler had not returned phone calls from both he and new head coach Josh McDaniels for the last 10 days. Bowlen spoke with Cutler's agent, Bus Cook, on Tuesday and came away convinced "that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos,” and further stated that “we will begin discussions with other teams in an effort to accommodate his request to be traded.” Cutler's been unhappy ever since Mike Shanahan and his coaching staff were fired, followed by his learning that McDaniels dangled him in trade talks involving Matt Cassel, who McDaniels helped to develop during his time as offensive coordinator in New England.
