Maybe it’s just me, but when you return nearly 75% of your scoring from a national championship team, I assume that you’d be considered the front-runner to do it all over again. However, that isn’t exactly the case. Although some national outlets have Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals ranked No. 1 in their preseason rankings, the majority have put Louisville anywhere from No. 3 to No. 7. I realize it sounds crazy, but I still think that when it’s all said and done, this team could be better than the national championship team. Sure, Gorgui Dieng and Peyton Siva will be missed, but Chris Jones, Terry Rozier and an increased role from Montrezl Harrell could make Louisville much more dynamic than last year’s team.
