Per CBSSports.com, Virginia Tech transfer Dorian Finney-Smith has decided on Florida. He chose the Gators over Iowa State, Louisville, and Memphis. Finney-Smith and his mother had visited Louisville from June 3-5. They then visited Iowa State and Memphis. Finney-Smith’s mother made it clear that Louisville was near the top of her son’s list. However, things obviously changed once the two left town. For what it’s worth, I was told Finney-Smith was close to verbally committing to the Cards while he was on campus. Strangly enough, Florida was the only school that Finney-Smith and his mother did not visit over the last few weeks. However, he did visit Gainesville during his original recruiting process in 2011. Finney-Smith is the second transfer Billy Donovan and the Gators have landed this off-season. South Carolina transfer Damontre Harris has also transferred to Florida. Not landing Dorian Finney-Smith isn’t a huge loss for Louisville, but I think he would have been a bigger addition...

According to Scout.com national basketball analyst Evan Daniels, the Florida Gators should be adding yet another stellar transfer to the roster with the addition of Virginia Tech’s Dorian Finney-Smith. The gators were a finalist for Finney-Smith’s services when he committed to the Hokies and he joins South Carolina transfer Demontre Harris who committed a month ago.
