Drake Transfer Kevin Overton Includes Oklahoma in Top Six

Oklahoma is going to end up being very active in the transfer portal. With the college basketball transfer portal coming to a close on May 1, the Sooners are going to have to do whatever they can to fill their roster. Porter Moser saw the likes of Milos Uzan, Javian McCollum, Otega Oweh and John Hugley enter the transfer portal since it opened just under a month ago. Now, he’s got to replace that production with incoming transfers.

With that in mind, the Sooners have shown interest in plenty of different talents in the portal. They’ve hosted Kevin Overton — a Drake transfer — on a visit. Virginia Tech transfer and local talent Sean Pedulla is also expected to visit Norman, another option to fill the void in the backcourt.

Overton, who played his high school basketball at Sunrise Christian, though from Oklahoma City, is a transfer guard from Drake. He started in each of his 35 games played as a freshman, averaging 11.3 points per game in 29.9 minutes per game. The 6-foot-5 guard added 3.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.

Overton recently revealed his top six programs, with included Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Colorado State, Houston and West Virginia.
