Just a week ago, the Drexel Dragons were a precarious 1-2 in the tough Colonial Athletic Association, with two big names looming on the schedule in Final Four darlings Virginia Commonwealth (2011) and George Mason (2006), the two schools that put the CAA on the map. After first battling the VCU Rams to the end in a 64-58 victory, the Dragons knew they were in for another dogfight against the Patriots, who came into the Daskalakis Athletic Center with a 4-0 conference record.
GMU took a 27-22 halftime lead as the Dragons made just two of their first 16 shots from the floor, but Damion Lee provided all the offense they would needin the second half. The freshman scored 16 out of Drexel's 18 points during one stretch en route to a game-high 21 points as Drexel came from behind to move to 11-5, 3-2 in the conference. As usual, our buddies at Philahoops have complete coverage of the game, including a postgame wrap with CBS Sports Network's Jon Rothstein and audio from both Drexel and George Mason.
