TEAMS: Duke Blue Devils
After coming out of November undefeated with wins over the toughest nonconference schedule in the country, Duke is averaging 30 points in margin of victory for their two games in December. Following a week off after taking out Delaware 88-50 last Saturday, Duke played their 4th neutral court contest this year against Temple, winning 90-67. The Blue Devils avenged last year’s unexpected loss to the Owls in dominating fashion, trailing for the first 2:09 of the game but then never again. Once Duke went up by 10 points at the 10:24 mark of the 1st half, the lead never dipped into single digits for the final 29:36 of the contest.
How’d they do it? In our season long focus on the Four Factors, we seek to explain Duke’s wins statistically using Dean Oliver’s longstanding metrics. Check into statistical reports from Duke’s other games this season by clicking on the Four Factors tag at the bottom of this article.
One trend that has been common throughout the Blue Devils’ 9 wins this year ha...

Diversification of Quinn Cook’s game leading him to great heights
A lot has been made of Seth Curry taking the ball to the hole more this season compared to last, this being the reason for his increase in points and efficiency. While this is a convenient narrative, the data doesn’t back it up. Last season, Seth shot 47% of his shots from beyond the arc, while this season he’s shot almost exactly the same — 47.2%. If this same point was made...
Duke 90 Temple 67 Highlights
Duke exacted revenge on the second non-conference team to deal them a loss last season with a 97-60 victory over Temple at the Izod Center on Saturday afternoon. While Mason Plumlee didn’t have his usual efficient game, he still put up a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Classmates Seth Curry and Ryan Kelly also had big contributions, with Kelly notching his first double...

Starters continue to pace Duke to hot start
By Josh Evans – If you had told anyone including Mike Krzyzewski that his team would not be 9-0 heading into exam week before Christmas, neither he nor anyone else would have believed it. It is not that everyone thought that this Duke team was bad, but it was the difficulty of their schedule. If you have been keeping up with college basketball, you will know that Duke has beaten...

Meadowlands Massacre
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. – There would be no repeat of Temple’s upset of Duke at the Wells Fargo Center last year.
Seth Curry took care of that. The Duke senior guard led four Blue Devils in double figures with 23 points and Duke led by double digits for most of the game on the way to a 90-67 victory at the Izod Center. Duke improved to 9-0, while Temple fell to 6-1.
I got 99 rankings but eleven ain’t one
With yesterday’s #2 ranking, Duke Basketball has been ranked in the Associated Press/ESPN Top 10 for 99 consecutive weeks. With no game coming this week due to finals break, that streak will reach 100 next Monday. The streak is one of the more impressive ones still alive for Coach Mike Krzyzewski’s program. Spanning over 5 years and 1,848 days, Duke has been the benchmark of...
Duke Morning F.I.S.T. – December 10
By Duke Of Hoops – The opponents keep coming, and Duke keeps winning. The Temple Owls were the latest team to stand in the Blue Devils’ way on the basketball court and they were disposed of in blowout fashion. I hope your return to reality this morning is not quite as jaunting as Temple’s was on Saturday. Duke doesn’t play again until December 19th, so keep it locked here...
