Last Monday, the 12 coaches in the Atlantic Coast Conference gave their preseason predictions for the first time in the league’s history. NC State was the clear winner, being pegged as the #1 team heading into the season and having both the preseason freshman of the year in Rodney Purvis and player of the year in CJ Leslie. Last Wednesday, at ACC Operation Basketball the media mainly concurred with the coaches’ selections. NC State was selected to finish in first place, followed by Duke and then UNC. In individual honors, the media agreed with the coaches again, picking CJ Leslie as the preseason ACC POY and Wolfpack teammate Rodney Purvis as Freshman of the Year. Michael Snaer, James McAdoo, Lorenzo Brown and Mason Plumlee finished out the All-ACC First Team. The ACC media and coaches weren’t the only groups to give their ACC preseason predictions.
