For those not believing in the Charlotte 49ers’ school record 7-0 start, a dose of reality in the form of a 73-69 victory over the Davidson Wildcats at Belk Arena proved to serve notice. Charlotte was extremely effective off the dribble and on the offensive glass in recording the win.
The key down the stretch was experience as senior Chris Braswell and sophomore Pierria Henry combined for the 49ers’ last 11 points as they scored those on their final five possessions of the game after trailing 65-62 with 3:50 to go. Henry scored the last six of those, four from the free throw line.
