Former Mountain West Player of the Year Graham Ike transfers to Gonzaga

They say in life that the rich get richer. In the case of Gonzaga, their newest addition proves that in college basketball, the elite gets elite-er.

It's being reported that Graham Ike is transferring to Gonzaga, which is a huge win for Mark Few's team.

Ike has star potential, but outside of college basketball junkies, few people likely know what he's capable of. This is despite the fact that he put up monster numbers at Wyoming in 2021-22.

Ike, a 6-foot-9, 255-pound forward, shot 51% from the field and averaged 19.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per game for the Cowboys. He missed all of last season with a lower left leg injury, but the 'Zags are obviously hoping they'll be getting the 2021 version of the big man.

"Graham is exactly the big guy we've been looking for and in need of for next season," Few said regarding his new forward, per the team website. "After having him up for a visit and meeting he and his Mom, he's just going to be the perfect fit for our program. He is a young man of high character, who is really focused and a hard worker. He has shown himself to be a highly effective player over the years."

If Ike can get back to form quickly, he'll likely make a case to be one of the best college basketball players in the country by the time all is said and done. He'll also get a ton more notoriety playing at Gonzaga, which is said not as a slight to Wyoming but more so an acknowledgment of the national program Few has built in the northwest.
