While the ACC season is young, and Duke has played less than a quarter of its games, the Blue Devils are going through a huge transformation right now so its appropriate to point out any impressive number the players on the team are putting up right now. Duke suffered its first loss to NC State during this stretch, so I didn’t expect the numbers to be this good, but four Blue Devils in particular are showing extremely positive numbers so far in ACC play.
According to data calculated by Jon Pence at scacchoops.com, Quinn Cook, Seth Curry, Mason Plumlee and Amile Jefferson rank among the Top 5 players in plus/minus rating per game. The minimum criteria to be ranked is 10 minutes per game, which leaves Ryan Kelly out of the equation. If you don’t know about plus/minus, it is a measure of how a team fares when a player is on the floor as opposed to when they’re on the bench. There is a lot of noise in this statistic, but it is one of the best measurements available without tracking ever...

According to a Nike release, Duke is one of twelve college basketball teams around the country to wear “Hyper Road Elite” jerseys this season. Duke Morning F.I.S.T. – Hit by a truck Edition
Duke has had some bad beats, but last night was the worst one since they were beat by 27 against Clemson in 2009. Coach Mike Krzyzewski forced his players to remain on the floor that night to soak in just how bad they had gotten beat, so they could take some lessons from a negative. The Blue Devils ended that season with a 23-point defeat to Villanova, the last time they shot as...

Miami destroyed No.1 Duke by 27 points
No.1 Duke was handed the worst loss ever for the No.1 overall team team in the AP poll on Wednesday night against the University of Miami. Duke’s guards (Quinn Cook and Seth Curry) played atrocious, shooting a combined 1 for 29 from the floor. Miami went on a 25-1 run during the first half and never looked back. Is Michigan the next team to take a stab at No.1?These three consecutive...

Duke offers 2014 Power Forward Kevon Looney
With the Class of 2013 basically wrapped up, Duke has moved most of their recruiting focus on to the junior class. That is in addition to Josh Hairston and Tyler Thornton, as well as Andre Dawkins, were he to return after...
