I had the opportunity to check out the Flyers last night at Madison Square Garden against the Fordham Rams. Fordham has had a rough season, losing their head coach (Dereck Whittenburg, fired) and their top player (Jio Fontan, transferred to USC). On top of that, not necessarily as a result, Fordham entered the game with a 2-12 record (0-2 in conference), a 300+ RPI, and a 300+ ranking on KenPom.com. Needless to say, this season has been a trainwreck for the Rams. I will recap the game, but first wanted to make a few comments about the game. For people in the NY/NJ area, following UD means watching lots of games on the Internet, the occasional gamewatch party, or traveling to see UD play in Philadelphia, Rhode Island, and other cities. It is a luxury to see Dayton up-close-and-personal, especially at Madison Square Garden.
