CBS Sports' Jeff Goodman says, according to his sources, UNC wing player P.J. Hairston will be returning to school. North Carolina's P.J. Hairston is returning to North Carolina, sources told CBSSports. Still not sure about McAdoo and Bullock yet. — Jeff Goodman (@GoodmanCBS) April 7, 2013 However P.J. Hairston's mother, Wendy Mailey, when contacted by the N&O's Andrew Carter said no decision had been made. P.J. Hairston's mom refutes @goodmancbs report that P.J. Hairston has made up mind to return. "We are still in the process," she says. — Andrew Carter (@_andrewcarter) April 7, 2013 Hairston's mom, Wendy Mailey, also said: "I’d like to find out who knows more about my son than I do. Interesting." — Andrew Carter (@_andrewcarter) April 7, 2013 One interesting aspect of these kinds of situations is the family often flatly denes a media report of this type only to have it proven true when the official announcement comes. Goodman is very rarely off base with his reporting so it will be interesting to see how this shakes out..[Note: Typo corrected that suggested Goodman was not reliable. Based on what I see, he is.] For the record, Roy Williams stated last week that he felt like they were much close to having all three back than was the case a year ago. He also said they would wait for all three to decide before making an official announcement. In light of that, Goodman may be right but his news jumps the gun on what UNC/family is planning to do regarding an official announcement. At any rate, I would imagine this all get resolved over the next few days.   This article was originally published at http://tarheelblog.com.
