PRAYERS FOR COACH KNIGHT
DEAR MBB ALUMNI:
Please join us in sending prayers to coach Knight and his family. Coach Knight was admitted to the hospital Friday evening and is currently recovering from an acute illness. The family's hope is to have him back home soon.
According to Bozich's report, the 82-year-old moved back to Bloomington "several years ago" and was a "weekly visitor" to Indiana men's basketball practices this season under head coach Mike Woodson (one of his former players).
Knight is fourth all time in wins (902) and picked up three national titles (all with the Hoosiers) during his four-decade coaching career. The three-time AP Coach of the Year "battled health issues" since returning to Bloomington — according to Bozich — but attended a reunion of his former players ahead of Indiana's contest against Purdue in February 2020.
