While Duke’s star freshman Jabari Parker may have been on the losing end of the Blue Devils’ top-five matchup against Kansas last night, he certainly made his presence known to the college basketball world. Parker tallied 27 points, nine rebounds and two steals before fouling out late in the second half. He also produced one of the more spectacular dunks we’ve seen so far this season.
Parker’s alley-oop dunk from the first half of yesterday’s game was immediately compared to Grant Hill’s iconic dunk against the same foe – Kansas – back in 1991. Here’s a quick side-by-side comparison, posted by The Blue Devil Network (and put together by ESPN).
Parker and the Blue Devils will be in good shape if the comparisons continue – that 1991 Duke team won the NCAA title.
