49ers Gab:
In a move that does not come as much of a surprise, the Niners have named Shaun Hill as their starting QB for their next game on November 10th vs the Cardinals. Hill takes over for J.T. O'Sullivan, who was the starter for each and every game this season to date.
"We just felt like right now, Shaun gave us the best chance of winning," new coach Mike Singletary said today. "Some of the things that have happened with the turnovers and all that, J.T. just needed to take a little time and gather himself."
O'Sullivan has been a turnover machine as of late for the 49'ers, as he has 11 interceptions and 11 fumbles in 7 and a half games. Hill, who started a few games last season, and was signed to a new deal in the offseason, was 15-for-23 for 173 yards with a score in relief of O'Sullivan vs the Seahawks Sunday.
"I look at the quarterback position, (and) it's kind of quirky," Singletary said. "It's kind of crazy how you try and figure it out. You just need a football player. All of the other stuff is just for the scouts. You need a football player who can do whatever you need to do for the team to win."
