Houston Adds to Top 25 Class With Sleeper Valentine Izundu

While it isn’t exactly the Phi-Slamma-Jamma just yet, outside observers can’t help but being impressed with the work Houston has done on the recruiting trail for the 2012 class. They landed their third verbal commitment today, in a class that is considered by most to be in the Top 25 recruiting classes in the country. Center Valentine Izundu of Lamar Consolidated (TX) committed to Houston today, per multiple reports. Izundu is a raw, but is reportedly a shot blocking presence that is tough on the defensive end. According to the Fox affiliate in Houston, Izundu has played junior varsity basketball for three years in high school, making this his first varsity season. Throughout the spring and summer, Izundu drew some attention playing with the Houston Preps traveling team, which featured a solid assortment of D-1 prospects.
