Houston's Jamal Shead emotional in loss to Villanova

Houston’s season came to an end on Saturday, and Jamal Shead sure had a tough time dealing with the defeat.

Even though the game wasn’t over, Shead was showing emotion over the final 20-30 seconds of his team’s 50-44 loss to Villanova in the finals of the South Region. TBS’s cameras showed close-ups of Shead on a few occasions. The pain on his face was visible, and he was close to tears feeling like his team’s comeback was a lost cause.

The teams played a low-scoring contest, and Houston really struggled against Villanova’s defense. The Cougars shot just 29.8 percent from the field and went an abysmal 1/20 on threes. Shead shot 4/13 in the game but missed all five of his three-point attempts.

Shead averages 10.1 points and a team-best 5.9 assists per game. Unfortunately for the sophomore guard, his team’s season has come to an end.
