For one half, Bob Huggins thought this West Virginia team actually resembled one that he would coach. In the second half against Eastern Kentucky, though, the Mountaineers frustrated their head coach by reverting to old habits.
Geno Smith played in his final game as the starting quarterback for the West Virginia Mountaineers in the 2012 Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium before he prepares for the 2013 NFL Draft. Suffice to say, things did not go how Smith would have scripted his final college football game of his great career.

It's the same mistakes, over and over again. That's what has Bob Huggins as frustrated as anything else with the way his West Virginia team has continued to struggle against opponents that, on paper, would appear to be vastly inferior.
It's a question West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen didn't particularly want to answer after his team's 38-14 loss to Syracuse in Saturday's Pinstripe Bowl.
But as the curtain closed, amid a raging snowstorm, on a fruitless 7-6 season that no one could've foreseen, it's one that begged to be asked.
