Coach Pitino made some pretty interesting comments this afternoon during the weekly Big East coaches teleconference. He is still voicing his opinion on the future of the Big East and what he thinks is best for the Louisville program. He also stated that he did not want his team to have a double bye in the Big East tournament, so guys like Kevin Ware and Wayne Blackshear could get some more experience before heading into the NCAA tournament.
Quotes From Coach Pitino
“I don’t think the Big East Tournament will ever be the same without Syracuse.”
“The Big 12 had an opportunity to take Louisville last year & they didn’t take that opportunity.”
“I wouldn’t mind dying a Big East coach.”
“Temple is an ideal fit (in the Big East.”
“I’d rather not have the double bye in the Big East tournament, so guys like Kevin Ware and Wayne Blackshear can get more repetition.”
Regarding the whole Big East situation, I think it’s obvious that Coach Pitino wants nothing more than for Louisville
