Move over, Kanye and Jay. Looks like Rick Pitino is having his "Watch the Throne" moment. The coach of the defending champion Louisville Cardinals, who also turned 60 this year and already celebrated his title with a tattoo , now has been spotted in this Lexus LFA, which Louisville sharpshooter Luke Hancock shared with the world. There reportedly were fewer than 1,000 produced this year. The price? About $450K. Nothing to a boss like Pitino, who has a $5.7 million salary and got a $425K bonus for winning the title. So it pretty much paid for itself. What do you get for all that green? A 4.8-liter V10 with 552 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Guess we know who'll be leading the fast breaks in Louisville this season.

Rick Pitino now driving a $450,000 Lexus LFA

If you’re in Louisville, be on the lookout for a $450,000 white Lexus LFA sports car. It’s Rick Pitino. That number comes from…

Rick Pitino Isn’t Happy With The NCAA’s Decision Regarding Rakeem Buckles

It was reported yesterday that former Louisville forward Rakeem Buckles was denied a waiver from the NCAA and will not be allowed play for Minnesota this season. Buckles transferred to FIU following the 2012 season and sat out this past year due to both the NCAA’s transfer rule and he was rehabbing his second torn ACL. In early April, Richard Pitino left FIU after just one season...

Photo: SMU Athletic Director Rick Hart’s Ride Is Pimped Out With Mustangs Logos

Earlier today, Rick Pitino’s new $450,000 Lexus ride made headlines — the Cardinals’ coach likes to cruise around Louisville in style, apparently. But little did we know that we’d actually see an even better Lexus today in the college sports world. SMU Athletic Director Rick Hart tweeted a picture of his new wheels today — on College Colors Day, this is just perfect: Check...

Rick Pitino drives a $450,000 Lexus

Earlier this year, Louisville Cardinals college basketball coach Rick Pitino won his second National Championship, earning himself a $425,000 bonus to go along with his $5.7 annual salary. When you see that kind of bonus income head your way, you’re able to splurge a little and buy something very nice for yourself. Pitino apparently did just that, as he’s proud owner of a brand...

Chinanu Onuaku Favors Louisville. He’s On Campus This Weekend

Chinanu Onuaku, a 6-foot-9 center from Upper Marlboro, MD., is one of two recruits that are taking unofficial visits to Louisville this weekend. Of all the big men in the 2014 class that have scholarships offers from Rick Pitino, Onuaku is a little late to the party. I think its safe to say that Onuaku wasn’t option number one for Coach Pitino, but the fact that he has a scholarship...

JaQuan Lyle Will Accompany Trey Lyles On His Official Visit This Weekend

Louisville commit JaQuan Lyle has confirmed via his Twitter account that he’ll be visiting Louisville this weekend. Rick Pitino’s current top target Trey Lyles will also be on campus this weekend making his first official visit. Lyle and Lyles have been AAU teammates for the past three years. Since pledging to Louisville in June, JaQuan has made it pretty clear that he would...

Louisville 49 – Ohio 7: Cards Cruise In The Season Opener

I think we all predicted a win for Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals as they open they opened the 2013 season, but I’d be lying if I said I expected to play out the way it did. For the second consecutive season, Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater only played three quarters of action. Teddy was 23-of-28 for 355 yards and five touchdowns with one interception. Outside...

Ohio Head Coach Frank Solich Focusing On Shutting Down Louisville’s Running Game

The Louisville wide receiving group is still slightly under-appreciated on the nation level, in my opinion. However, after seeing Teddy Bridgewater spread the ball around to multiple guys in the Sugar Bowl, a lot of folks have taken notice. If you don’t follow Louisville closely, you may not realize how strong of a backfield the Cards have this year. The addition of Michael Dyer...

Michael “Dark Slime” Baffour Will Finish His Hoops Career At A Different School

The University of Louisville’s 2013-14 basketball roster was released earlier this week. Among the multiple names that were no longer listed was former walk-on Michael “Dark Slime’ Baffour. Dark Slime joined the program last summer as a walk-on. He was born in Kumasi, Ghana and is a native of Lexington, Kentucky. He attended Bryan Station High School, where he was a multi-sport...

Louisville Now A 21-Point Favorite Against Ohio

Charlie Strong and his team opened as a 20.5 point favorite against Ohio. The initial spread was surprising enough to most folks, considering Ohio is a solid team. However, the line has moved on game day and Louisville is now a 21-point three touchdown favorite against the Bobcats. I don’t think Louisville will blow out every single team on their schedule this season, but in this...

GIF: Ohio’s Devin Bass pulls off magical cartwheel during kickoff return

Ohio's Devin Bass was one of the few bright sots in the early going against the Louisville Cardinals, pulling off this magical cartwheel on a kickoff return.

Perfection thy name is Louisville as epic season begins

Teams aren’t supposed to look that good in the opening game. But it was a dominating performance by the University of Louisville football team, the Cardinals appearing to be in mid-season form in a 49-7 dismantling of Ohio University. A few quick starts among the few minor blemishes in an otherwise near perfect performance. The crowd of 55,332 was equally impressive, the...

U of L's Jamon Brown ready for his switch

University of Louisville junior Jamon Brown is ready for his important switch to the left tackle position. He'll be protecting Teddy Bridgewater's blindside for the Cardinals.

Big play Copeland does it again for Cards

In a game that was never in doubt there were plenty of big plays and key plays for the University of Louisville on Sunday. But early on it was fifth-year senior Damian Copeland making the biggest of them all in a 49-7 win over Ohio University.
