Josh Jarboe's Gangsta Ways

Back in the 1800s, you had to be packing heat when riding on the wagon trials of Oklahoma, because you never knew when bandits would attack. So maybe Josh Jarboe's obsession with guns is purely from an historical standpoint. The Oklahoma incoming freshman wide receiver was kicked off the team after a 74-minute freestyle rap circulated of Jarboe, which has the Sooner saying, among other things "I'll shoot you ass like Halo." For the record, Jarboe was arrested in March after his high school assistant principal told a school police officer he saw Jarboe pull a gun from his car. Jarboe was expelled and had to get his diploma online. He pleaded guilty in May to and was given two years of probation and 80 hours of community service. After the sentencing, Stoops said "we have already stressed to him that his citizenship is of the utmost importance. He understands that anything less than exemplary behavior will not be tolerated." Jarboe would have been wise to load his iPod up with a little less T.I. and more of Will Smith's greatest hits album or even some Kid 'N Play but instead thought "citizenship" was more about representing his 'hood instead of keeping a scholarship. Solid. One lingering question though, if Jarboe gets booted for his somewhat passable rhyming skills, should Les Miles be banned from even saying the word "football" for this (c)rap?
