Kansas bound Cliff Alexander, the #3 recruit in the nation, injured his wrist in the McDonald’s All-American Game dunk contest last night and didn’t participate in Tuesday’s morning practice. He sat out and iced his wrist. An hour later at the United Center, McDonald’s game director Douglas Freeland announced that Alexander would not appear at media day because he was at the hospital getting his wrist checked.
Freeland said the injury wasn’t serious and appeared to be a contusion.
So Cliff Alexander, 6-9, 235 power forward from Curie High School in Chicago, missed media day this afternoon and is questionable for Wednesday night’s All-Star game.
If the injury is indeed serious, you can best believe he won’t play in the showcase tomorrow night. Kansas Coach Bill Self will make sure that Cliff doesn’t risk further damage for a mere All-Star game.
