The Kansas Jayhawks are a perennial power house when it comes to college basketball, but after their third loss in a row there are bound to be more people than just the head coach wondering what's up with his team. Following Wednesday's loss to Big 12 bottom feeder TCU head coach Bill Self called the team the worst that the school has ever had. Now, I can only assume that he was attempting to do one of those reverse psychology things; tell them they suck so they get mad and play even harder. There is an NBA coach or two that likes to do something like that (I can't remember if it is Dallas or San Antonio), but he calls the guys soft. What macho make likes that, right? While it worked for the NBA team (sorry, I can't remember exactly which), it totally failed for Self. Oklahoma is a much better team than the Horned Frogs, and the Jayhawks did play better, but the end result was a rare third consecutive loss. If something like this is going to happen, now i...

Oklahoma sends Jayhawks to third straight loss

Unranked Oklahoma sent the Jayhawks to their third straight loss Saturday after a 72-66 victory from the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman. Kansas St.-Kansas Preview

Two weeks ago, Kansas appeared to be cruising toward its ninth straight Big 12 regular-season title. Now the Jayhawks are in danger of their longest losing streak in 24 years, and they must knock off their intrastate rival for the second time this season to avoid it. Jayhawks Drop Third Straight

If Saturday was a gut check game for the Kansas Jayhawks, Monday’s home game with Kansas State will need a stronger description, after Kansas lost their third straight game Saturday, for the first time since 2005, with a 72-66 defeat at the hands of the Oklahoma Sooners.

Fist-Place Wildcats Set To Visit Kansas

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Red-hot Kansas State, winners of four games in a row, takes on the dazed Kansas Jayhawks, losers of three games in a row, Monday night at 8 in Allen Fieldhouse. Losing streak is unfamiliar turf for No. 5 Kansas

(Eds: Updates.) By KATHLEEN GIER Associated Press After one of his team's worst performances in years, Bill Self likened the Kansas team he put on the floor Wednesday night to ones fielded by Dr. James Naismith back when the school was playing games against the Topeka YMCA. The fifth-ranked Jayhawks had just lost to Big 12 bottom-dweller TCU, which had been winless in its first...

Who is the Best Team in College Basketball?

With six weeks left until Selection Sunday, who is the best team in college basketball right now? That is not an easy question to answer. The reason this question is so hard to answer is because there is no true dominant team this season. In the words of Kansas Head Coach, Bill Self, there is [...] [[ This is a content summary only.
