Former Miami Hurricanes stars Kenny Kadji and Durand Scott have signed to play in the NBA Summer League, it was announced Friday. Kadji, a forward, had been considered a possible second-round selection in Thursday night's NBA Draft but went undrafted. He will play with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the summer league. Scott, a guard, will play for the San Antonio Spurs. Kadji played two seasons with the Hurricanes after transferring from Florida. He averaged 12.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks with Miami. He shot 47.9 percent overall and 37.3 percent from 3-point range in his two season in Coral Gables, Fla."Kenny will impress a lot of scouts with his size, shooting ability and overall athleticism," Miami head coach Jim Larraaga said. "I am confident he will be in the NBA this season."Scott, the 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference defensive player of the year, ended his college career eighth as the Canes' eighth all-time leading scorer with 1,650 points. He averaged 12.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and holds the school record for most minutes, games started and games played. Today Durand Scott was picked up by the Spurs as a free agent, Larraaga said. This is the perfect team for him because they will love his defensive toughness. The Spurs are the best team in the NBA at finding a diamond in the rough. Durand has all the necessary tools to make it in the NBA. Former Miami point guard Shane Larkin, who went pro after his sophomore season, became the second-highest Hurricanes player drafted, going No. 18 to Atlanta before being traded to Dallas. The only former UM player to go higher was Rick Barry, taken second overall by the San Francisco Warriors in 1965. "Dreams do come true at Miami," Larraaga said. "Miami had an exciting night last night when Shane Larkin was drafted No. 18 and will join the Dallas Mavericks with Coach Rick Carlisle, who happens to be a former player of mine, and we have more good news today."
