The Naismith Player of the Year Award is the most prestigious award in all of college basketball, and Kentucky freshman Justin Edwards was named to the preseason watchlist for this award.
Fifty players are named to this preseason watch list, so knowing that Edwards was on this list shows you how good of a true freshman season Edwards will put together.
Recently, on the Locked On College Basketball Podcast, host Isaac Schade and Andy Patton predicted who would win the Freshman of the Year Award, and Schade predicted Edwards would win this award.
This tells me that college basketball personalities all over the country think Edwards is going to have a great year, and this comes as no surprise as he is predicted to be a top-five pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.
Watch out for Justin Edwards because he is ready to take the college basketball world by storm.
Congrats to Edwards for being on the Naismith Player of the Year Award preseason watchlist.
