PLAYERS: Will Sheehey
TEAMS: Indiana Hoosiers
Indiana forward Will Sheehey has injured his lower left leg and is listed as day-to-day. In a release issued late Wednesday night, the 17th-ranked Hoosiers said the injury occurred during practice earlier in the day. Indiana hosts UMBC on Thursday night, and it's unclear whether Sheehey will play. The sophomore forward has played a key role in Indiana's resurgence. He is one of five Hoosiers scoring in double figures (10.7) and is the second-highest scoring non-starter in the Big Ten. After three straight losing seasons, Indiana is 11-0 for the first time since 1975-76. That team went 32-0, won the national championship and is the last Division I men's basketball champion with an undefeated record.

No. 17 Indiana rolls to 12-0 start

Derek Elston and Will Sheehey already were sidelined and Verdell Jones went down in the first half. In their absence, Matt Roth stepped up for No. 17 Indiana. The senior guard scored a season-high 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc to lead the depleted Hoosiers to an 89-47 win over Maryland-Baltimore County on Thursday night. ''It's just part of the philosophy...

Elston sidelined after surgery to repair nose fracture

When Indiana takes the court on Thursday night for its final game before Big Ten play, the Hoosiers will be without Derek Elston. Indiana coach Tom Crean announced today that Elston had minor surgery on Tuesday to repair a fracture in his nose. The injury was sustained via an inadvertant elbow in practice from sophomore Victor Oladipo. “Derek Elston’s gonna miss tomorrow, because...

The Minute After: UMBC

Thoughts on a 89-47 win over the Retrievers: Indiana was getting good outside shots in the first half. The Hoosiers just weren’t hitting them against UMBC’s zone, as they only made 2-of-14 from 3-point range. Still, they were able to carry a 16-point lead into halftime by scoring 24 of their 37 points off UMBC turnovers. And by the time the second half rolled around, Indiana...

11-0 start has merit, but work remains for Indiana

Do you remember the last Indiana team to start a season 11-0? Some of you may. Others, like myself, were not alive to witness it. The answer is the 1975-76 national championship team — also the last team in college basketball to finish undefeated. This year’s group of Hoosiers matched the feat last night with a 107-50 clubbing of Howard. An IU victory on Thursday against the...

B1G Preview: Indiana Hoosiers

Well that was fast. Not even four years ago Indiana was dismantled due to the infractions committed by Kelvin Sampson, which left the program in shambles. Film Session: Zeller’s first half against Notre Dame

Indiana only shot 34.4 percent from the field in the first half against Notre Dame. But thanks to 14 first-half points (6-of-10 shooting) and an assist from Cody Zeller, the Hoosiers were able to take a 26-20 lead into the break. A look at three of his plays in the latest edition of Film Session: 1) ASSIST TO OLADIPO Zeller looks for the ball in the high post: Victor Oladipo opts...

T Mobile’s Carly Foulkes Back with New Christmas Ad (Video)

What follows below is almost powerful enough to make me very sentimental about the upcoming holidays. Almost.  It certainly makes me wish I were a T-Mobile customer instead of U.S. Cellular. Although that’s not entirely true as in the next month I’m about to treat U.S. Cellular the way Eric Gordon treated the Illini, and looking at Verizon the way Gordon looked at the Indiana...
