The national profile of this week’s Legends Classic games at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., was raised on Friday when UCLA freshman guard Shabazz Muhammad won an appeal from the NCAA and became eligible immediately. The Bruins, ranked No. 13 in the latest Associated Press top 25 poll, are 3-0 without Muhammad and will play Georgetown in the second game on Monday evening. According to a statement from the NCAA, Muhammad must sit out 10 percent of the season, which equals the three games he’s already missed, and repay approximately $1,600 in impermissible benefits received.
