Lehigh guard C.J. McCollum will be sidelined eight to 10 weeks because of a broken left foot.
The Mountain Hawks announced the injury Sunday. McCollum, the nation's leading scorer and an Associated Press preseason All-American, was injured Saturday in the first half of a loss at VCU. McCollum was on crutches by game's end, his left foot wrapped. He scored just four points, all on free throws, 21.7 below his average.
McCollum was fifth nationally with 21.9 points per game last season and drew plenty of attention by scoring 30 points in Lehigh's upset victory over Duke in the NCAA tournament. Even with opponents geared toward stopping him, McCollum has been nearly unstoppable during his senior season.
Lehigh is hopeful McCollum could return for the final game of the regular season or the Patriot League tournament.

Much like he was following Lehigh’s 75-70 upset win over Duke in the NCAA tournament last March, standout guard C.J. McCollum found himself trending on Twitter Saturday night during and after the Mountain Hawks 59-55 loss at VCU.

McCollum left the game against the Rams with just over five minutes remaining...

McCollum suffered a foot injury in the first half of the Mountain Hawks' close loss at VCU and sat out the second half. Somehow, Lehigh was able to compete even without the nation's leading scorer. Even when McCollum was playing in the first half, he missed all five...
Treveon Graham scored 17 points and Virginia Commonwealth made key defensive stops late and beat Lehigh 59-55 Saturday night.

It’s a quiet night in college hoops with the Football National Championship game tonight (Go Irish!!!), so this will be quick Daily.
Thoughts From The Weekend
- I want to start off and wish C.J. McCollum a speedy and safe recovery from his broken foot, and injury which occurred during Lehigh’s Saturday game against Virginia Commonwealth...
