For their 12th win in a row Louisville defeated Colorado State 82-56 in Lexington’s Rupp Arena to advance to the Cards 19th NCAA Sweet 16 appearance. Russ “Big Game” Smith’s 27 points led the way with Gorgui Deing (12), Montrezl Harrell (11) and Peyton Siva (10) reaching double figures as well. In a rare instance, the postgame light was shining bright on the Louisville’s offense rather than it’s insanely effective defense (however, that was in effect as well).  The Cards finished 56% from the field (2nd highest on the season), 55% from three point range (highest on the season) and 83% from the free throw line (3rd highest on the season.) Coming into the match-up Colorado State held the nations highest rebound margin with a plus-12 average.  The Cards were the victor on the glass out-rebounding the Rams 29-24 With nine logging minutes of 15 minutes or more the Cards tenacity and aggression seemed to simply frustrate and wear down its opponent.  Added in with it’s standard demonstrative
