Prior to the official start of the 2012-13 season, Rick Pitino had some interesting comments about the outside shooting of this year’s team. Pitino said perimeter shooting wouldn’t be this team’s strength, but it also wasn’t going to be a huge weakness. He described his team as a good scoring team, but not a good shooting team.
I realize we’re only two games into the regular season and it’s entirely too early to overreact, but with that said, I’m not exactly confident in this team’s ability to shoot. We all know that Rick Pitino teams always have the green light when it comes to perimeter shooting. Regardless if we like it or not, this team is going to continue to shoot three pointers’, but throwing up 31 per game is a little much.
Louisville’s 31 three point attempts per game ranks third in the country. Not exactly what you’d expect from a team that isn’t built for outside shooting.
