D’Angelo Russell has been called by many national recruiting analysts as the best player to come out of the city of Louisville since Rajon Rondo. Russell is a native of Louisville and played his freshman season at Central High School, before transferring to Montverde Academy in Montverde Fla. Many have wondered why Russell hasn’t been one of the top targets for Louisville in the 2014 class, considering the hometown connection. That may soon change as Rick Pitino and staff have recently started to show interest in Russell. Rick Pitino has been pretty open about not wanting to go after many guard prospects in the 2014 class because the Cards are pretty loaded at that position. Louisville already has one commitment in the 2014 class from 4-star point guard Quintin Snider. Evansville native Jaquan Lyle was the only other guard in the 2014 class that Louisville was actively recruiting as of last month. At this time, Louisville isn’t actively recruiting D’Angelo Russell, but that may soon...

Rick Pitino answers reporter's cell phone during press conference

Alabama coach Nick Saban has a nice fiefdom set up in Crimson Tide land, with another chance at the national championship in January and a recruiting edge for years to come. But that — plus the 15-17 record he had the last time he coached in the NFL, with the Dolphins — doesn’t mean he’s not willing to jump away from college football again. Greg Bedard of The Boston Globe...

Rick Pitino Answers A Cell Phone — Not His — During Post Game Press Conference

Click here to view the embedded video. Louisville head coach Rick Pitino was clearly in a jovial mood after his Cardinals hammered the University of Missouri-Kansas City 99-47 on Saturday. His post game press conference was interrupted by a very loud ringing cell phone, and without missing a beat, Pitino answered, much to the delight of the room full of reporters. The woman on the...

Rondo repping Welker

Your Morning Dump… Where the final shot was designed for Kevin Garnett

Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here… highlighting the big storyline. Because there’s nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “I should have taken the lay-up,” Rondo said. “But I tried to make a plant and just slipped.” Said Garnett: “I thought he had the lay-up. It was just unfortunate. I was indecisive. I should have been more...

Video: Rajon Rondo continues to fuel Celtics woes.

The Boston Celtics continue to struggle in the middle of the Eastern Conference. A recent series of missteps by temperamental point guard Rajon Rondo has done nothing to elevate their cause. In their 95-94 overtime loss to Philadelphia on Friday, Rondo flubbed what should have been a game-winning scenario.  Please Click Here To Watch A Video Of Rondo's Key Mistake.

Rondo Cheers On Patriots’ MNF Game From Sideline

Rajon Rondo came out to support the home team New England Patriots as they took on the 11-1 Houston Texans at Gillette Stadium Monday night. The Celtics guard got the best seat in the house, cheering from the sideline where he sported a #83 Wes Welker jersey, the same one he’s worn to previous games. Head coach Doc Rivers was in attendance as well where he sat in on Belichick’s...

Regret and disapointment in Boston Celtics loss

Paul Pierce and the Celtics were losers on Friday night Rajon Rondo had a triple-double by the time the third quarter was over, but you would not have been able to tell from his post-game comments. “I should have took the layup,” said Rondo after he missed a game-winning opportunity slipping while taking a jump-shot. “I tried to make a plant and just slipped.” As an aside...
