Many of you have probably heard the story about Manti Te’o and how his “girlfriend” who supposedly died of cancer before Notre Dame played Michigan State, did not exist.  Well this now has a tie in with the University of Louisville’s basketball team via Peyton Siva. Lennay Kekua tweeted Peyton Siva during the Cardinals magical tournament run last year saying: “@lovalovaloveYOU:  @PeypeySiva3 When you comin to Ca bruh? I saw your pops end of last year.”  (She later changed her twitter name) I have been a firm believer that Manti Te’o made up this story to get media attention and boost the chances of him getting the Heisman Trophy.  But this is just plain weird… For one, if this was all a conspiracy why would the person running this account talk like he is a man?  Find me a girl that uses the word “bruh” and I will give you loads of credit because that is just odd and honestly unattractive to all of mankind.  Also I find it hard to believe that a fake account would randomly tweet Siva

Manti Te’o's Fake Girlfriend Tried To Contact Peyton Siva On Twitter

Deadspin.com is the website that broke the entire Manti Te’o fake girlfriend hoax last week, which has become the biggest story of 2013. One of DeadSpin’s most recent articles on the Te’o situation looked back at all of the Tweets from the fake Lennay Kekua Twitter account. It turns out the fake account had contacted Peyton Siva following Louisville’s second round win 18...

Syracuse 70 – Louisville 68: Post Game Notes

Albeit a close game, anytime you have Peyton Siva and Gorgui Dieng combine for seven total points, it could be hard to beat just about anyone. Cards were right on par with their average of 11.4 steals a game with 12.  That led to a 21-6 advantage in Points Off Turnovers.  That kind of advantage is not typical in a loss. Just under 37% of Louisville’s offense came from Russ Smith’s...

An NBA Scout’s Take On Russ Smith

As you could expect, there were multiple NBA scouts in attendance on Saturday at the KFC Yum Center for the Louisville – Syracuse match-up. One of the veteran NBA scouts spoke with Adam Zagoria of SNY.TV following the game. Here is his evaluation of Russ Smith’s performance. **Russ Smith, Louisville (25 points, 4 steals) Scout’s take:  ”Russ Smith is shooting up the charts...

Video: Russ Smith On The Loss To Syracuse

Russ Smith seemed upbeat following Louisville’s 70-68 loss to Syracuse. Russ was very complementary of Syracuse and says the team has already moved on and is looking to the next game.

Lightweight Villanova floors Louisville, 73-64

Inevitable letdown after losing to a top five team. That and a lack of respect from a University of Louisville basketball team for a mediocre-but-fired-up Villanova. Did their fans really rush the court after the game? Rick Pitino, disposing of his tie the second half against Syracuse, staying all buttoned up in his double breasted suit all game long. What’s up with that, coach...

Villanova 73 – Louisville 64: Cards Drop Two In A Row

I didn’t expect Louisville to run the table in Big East play this season, but I certainly didn’t expect to see them play like they did tonight.  It’s still January and the Cards have only three losses on the season, but what we saw tonight is slightly concerning. A week ago I was asking if this team had any real weaknesses. That question was answered tonight. Mental toughness...

Suspension Lifted For BJ Dubose, Charles Gaines, Zeke Pike & Kamal Hogan

According to Charlie Spring of UofLCardGame.com, the suspensions for Zeke Pike, Charles Gaines, BJ Dubose and Kamal Hogan have been lifted and all four players are expected to participate in spring practice. The four players had been suspended midway through the season for an off the field incident. Charlie Strong declined to elaborate on what exactly the four players did that caused...

Derrick Calloway Flips Commitment From Louisville To South Florida

Just 24-hours after making an official visit to Louisville, 3-star defensive lineman Derrick Calloway has de-committed from the Cardinal program and is now a part of South Florida’s recruiting class. Calloway had given Louisville a verbal commitment in December and left this weekend saying he was solid with that commitment, despite taking a visit to South Florida last weekend and...

No. 6 Syracuse upsets No. 1 Louisville 70-68

Louisville's reign at No. 1 is likely over after one week. The Cardinals' focus now is on reclaiming the top spot and holding on when it matters - through the season's end in April - after falling to No. 6 Syracuse 70-68 on Saturday. ''That doesn't bother me at all,'' Cardinals senior guard Peyton Siva said of the team's expected slip when the...

Cards all business preparing for Villanova

After a 70-68 loss to Syracuse on Saturday, University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino met with the media on Monday to talk about the Cardinals’ game on Tuesday at Villanova. Pitino had plenty to say about the Wildcats, the loss to the Orangemen and his team’s progress. Cardinal Authority was there.

Syracuse steals one from Louisville

In a matchup between two top 10 teams, it came down to the last possession.  Unforutnatley, Louisville came out on the losing end after a Syracuse steal in the closing minute.  The game ended 70-68. Peyton Siva has struggled against Syracuse in the past and this game was no exception.  He was 1-9 from the field with only 3 points.  In one of the most pivotal possessions of the...

Suspensions lifted for Dubose, Gaines, Pike and Hogan

They’re back. During an interview with ESPN blogger Andrea Adelson last week, University of Louisville offensive coordinator Shawn Watson mentioned the possibility of Zeke Pike playing tight end during the upcoming season. News to most of us. Pike, along with B. J. Dubose, Charles Gaines and Kamal Hogan, were suspended for disciplinary reasons shortly after the Cincinnati game...

Chucky Williams Flips Commitment From Ole Miss To Louisville

Chucky Williams, a 3-star athlete from Champagnat Catholic in Miami, FL., has flipped his commitment from Ole Miss to Louisville. Williams was one of the many recruits who took an official visit to Louisville over the weekend. Williams had given Ole Miss a verbal commitment in July, but apparently his visit over the weekend made quite an impression. He was also being heavily pursued...

Louisville-Villanova Preview

Louisville only occupied the No. 1 spot for a week as its 11-game winning streak was snapped on Saturday. However, the turnover-minded Cardinals appear poised to get back on track on Tuesday night against Villanova, a team that has struggled to protect the basketball while losing three straight. Fifth-ranked Louisville (16-2, 4-1 Big East) forces 19.7 turnovers a game, the second...
