Maxime Raynaud Leads Stanford To Win Over Utah
D. Ross Cameron-USA TODAY Sports

Don't look now but the Stanford Cardinal appear to be getting hot in Pac-12 play, as after knocking off Oregon State in overtime, they were able to take down the Utah Runnin' Utes on Sunday.

Stanford won by a score of 79-73 and was fueled by the big Frenchman Maxime Raynaud who finished the game with a 20-point 11 rebound double-double. They also got maybe the most clutch final two minutes of the season from Michael Jones who scored 10 of his 15 points in the final 120 seconds of the game.

The win bumps Stanford up to sole possession of third place in the Pac-12 and hands Utah just their fifth loss of the season.

Stanford went up by as many as 12 points in the second half, but the Utes came charging back. Big shots by Raynaud who hit an unexpected three, and Brandon Angel who splashed one of his own helped Stanford keep their lead.

Four of Stanford's five starters finished in double figures as Angel added 16 points, and Kanaan Carlyle added 12 points before fouling out.

The Cardinal (9-7)  now have a chance to win three games in a row for the first time this season, as they will welcome Washington State (12-5) to Palo Alto on Thursday.
