Michael Jordan’s son and former Illini point guard Jeff Jordan is done with UCF college basketball, the school announced in a statement late Saturday. “We wish Jeff nothing but the best in the future,” UCF head coach Donnie Jones said in the UCF athletics news release. “We appreciate his contributions to our program and he will always be a member of the UCF basketball family.” No specific reason was given for why Jordan left the team. Given that he’s a senior, and has zero pro potential, this is probably the last we’ll hear about him in a high profile hoops sense. Jordan’s younger brother, Marcus Jordan, the one who’s way better at basketball will stay on the team; where he is the Knights’ leading scorer. Jeff Jordan went from walk-on to scholarship at Illinois, but never really accomplished much. He was a decent defender and played some serviceable back up point guard minutes.
