Ebuka Anyaorah scored 18 points and North Carolina Central beat Stephen F. Austin 65-57 on Wednesday in the Global Sports Hoops Showcase. Dominique Sutton added 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Eagles (6-6), who never trailed after halftime. Ray Willis and Jeremy Ingram had 11 points each. Desmond Haymon led Stephen F. Austin (5-6) with 14 points and nine rebounds. Jereal Scott added 12 points and Antonio Bostic 11. After trailing by 10 points in the second half, Stephen F. Austin cut the deficit to 47-46 on a layup by Taylor Smith with 6:30 remaining. Jeremy Ingram responded with all of North Carolina Central's points in an 11-4 run that pushed the lead to 58-50. The Lumberjacks shot just 2 of 16 from 3-point range and 37 percent from the field. North Carolina Central turned nine Lumberjacks turnovers into 11 points and led 28-20 at halftime.
