Nebraska and Washington State both landed verbal commitments from center prospects on the recruiting trail this week, with the Cornhuskers taking the JUCO route, and the Cougars taking a pledge from a former Oklahoma verbal commit.
Nebraska continues to put in work in its 2012 class and has landed a center from Southeastern Community College (IA), Fahro Alihodzic, according to the Omaha World Herald. He’s a substantial player at 6′-10″, 240 pounds, and has an interesting background as a native of Bosnia that already has D-1 basketball under his belt.
The two commitments could be interrelated, as Alihodzic was also considering Washington State, along with Wichita State, according to reports. Alihodzic originally attended Fordham, starting numerous games as a freshman prior to redshirting. With Atlantic 10 experience, Alihodzic should be ready to withstand the rigors of Big Ten hoops as a junior next year.
