It keeps getting better for Louisville head coach Rick Pitino. Just one month after winning the 2013 national championship, Maker’s Mark has decided to feature Pitino on a limited edition series of Bourbon Bottles. All proceeds from the limited edition bottles will go towards Louisville’s new academic center that is in the works. Maker’s Mark will create 12,600 bottles featuring Pitino. It’s the second of three commemorative bottles that Makers Mark will release to support UofL’s Academic Center of Excellence, which will be home to UofL’s academic support for athletes, including tutoring and classroom space. The Academic Center will be located at the south end of Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium. The first edition from Makers Mark featured Louisville head football coach Charlie Strong. More than 8,400 bottles were sold when they were released in August. The price for the Pitino bottles hasn’t been announced just yet. I’ll be sure to keep you posted.
