Nerlens Noel’s surgery to repair his torn ACL will be administered by the famous Dr. James Andrews in Florida on Tuesday. Noel said he chose to have the surgery this week due to the University of Kentucky being on spring break. He was concerned about missing too much class time if the surgery was scheduled during his normal routine. Dr. James Andrews is a well known figure in the sports world, and always performs surgery on elite athletes. Noel decided to go with Dr. Andrews because he is able to speak with NBA personnel about the surgery and recovery. Until Noel declares for the NBA Draft, any contact with the pros would endanger his eligibility with the NCAA. Andrews can provide a direct link for NBA teams that may be looking to have Noel on their roster in the future. According to John Calipari, Noel could come back to Kentucky if his recovery is slower than expected. I find that to be a little far-fetched due to Noel’s work ethic and his potential as a professional. Good luck and best wishes on a speedy recovery for Nerlens and his future endeavors.

Poythress: Kentucky or NBA?

I know it’s a little early to be talking about the prospects of which Kentucky players will jump to the NBA or return for another year of school. Most can see Archie Goodwin already having one foot in the door of the NBA before the season started, and I believe he’s gone after this year. I don’t think Ryan Harrow will be on next year’s roster, either. I assume he will try...
