It was a cold, cold Saturday for the Golden Grizzlies Saturday and I’m not talking about the weather. Oakland shot a depressing 27.1 percent from the field (16-59) en rout to a 65-45 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the final non-conference game of the season. Duke Mondy led the way for Oakland with just 11 points and was one of two players on the Grizzlies squad that scored in double figures. Travis Bader had 10 points as both players logged over 30 minutes of playing time. “That wasn’t a very good basketball game, at least from our standpoint. We weren’t very good,” said Oakland coach Greg Kampe. “We were awful. We came here expecting to win. We didn’t come here to keep it close. We can’t come into a place like this and shoot 23 percent in the first half. We missed point-blank shots. We were wide open.
