Today’s college sports crossword puzzle:
It has been a long road for LaQuinton Ross to go from being the under-utilized player with a ton of talent to the one that could help the Buckeyes win a national championship. After delivering a game-winning three in Ohio State's 73-70 win over Arizona Thursday, Ross is a lot closer than most realized even a month ago.
This shouldn't be ho-hum material, but for fans of the Big Ten who've been paying attention all season long the art of the late game/buzzer beating three-pointer is becoming just that. Last weekend it was Aaron Craft hitting a game winner with 0.5 seconds on the clock to beat Iowa State and advance to the Sweet 16.
Don't worry Aaron, you're shot was good...
SO LONG, ARIZONA

Sophomore forward LaQuinton Ross swished a long three with 2.1 seconds remaining to give second-seeded Ohio State a 73-70 victory Thursday night over sixth seed Arizona and send the Buckeyes to the Elite Eight. Deshaun Thomas led OSU with 20 points, including 16 in the first half, while Ross added 17.
I had a feeling the shot was going to be huge. LaQuinton Ross just cemented himself as not only a future, but a current Ohio State star.
Here is the best video I can find (for now) on THE shot:

LaQuinton Ross did channel Kobe's clutch gene. Impossible? Not for
So apparently Ohio State has a flair for the dramatic. In its third-round matchup against Iowa State, Aaron Craft hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to put away the Cyclones.
Tonight in the Sweet 16, Craft was playing the role of distributor — on the Buckeyes’ last possession, he dished the ball to LaQuinton Ross, who was way behind the three-point arc — but that didn’t stop...

At this point in the tournament unless you are a fan of one of the teams in the game you are likely hoping to just see a good game. Blowouts are dull, but expected early on. When it comes time for the Sweet 16 there should be no cakewalks, right (right Indiana? Miami?)?
Fans got a good one in the Ohio State/Arizona game Thursday night. The game was fairly close throughout the...
HOLY HELL, that game last night was insane! LaQuinton Ross was a BOSS last night hitting that game winner, I jumped out of my chair and spilled Oberon on myself because of it and I wasn’t mad about it at all. Although, that first half was one that I was not happy with the way the boys played or the officiating. But the second half the team that we know and love showed up, with...
