EUGENE, Ore. -- Senior All-America outside hitter Alex Jupiter registered 21.5 points on 14 kills, 15 digs, three blocks and a career-high five service aces Saturday as the No. 4 USC Women of Troy silenced the No. 20 Oregon Ducks in a 3-0 sweep (25-21, 25-17, 25-23) in Pac-12 Conference action. Sophomore outside hitter Sara Shaw led USC with a career-high 17 kills while hitting .538 (17-3-26).
Once again, No. 6 Oregon put on an offensive show, scoring over 50 to beat Stanford. LaMichael James rushed for 146 yards and three TDs in the Ducks' 53-30 rout of the Cardinal.
Ducks not getting untracked early on a soggy field, but neither is Stanford. And Darron Thomas keeps for a short gain on the first play.
To beat Stanford, the Ducks will have to minimize penetration and get something going through the air.
