The Cardinal Connect:
Every player has that one opponent that for some reason brings out the best in them. For Louisville senior point guard Peyton Siva, the UConn Huskies are the team for him. In six games against the Huskies in his career, Siva is 5-1.
PS3 has had some of his best individual performances against UConn. In his last four games against the Huskies, Siva is averaging 13.5 points, 6.7 assists and 3.5 steals. The last time Siva played on the road at UConn he arguably had one of the best performances of his career.
Siva is coming off a 17-point performance against South Florida and joined Louisville’s 1,000 point club. Siva has only led the Cards in scoring on a few occasions this year, but tonight may the type of game where he takes over. UConn likes to play at a pace that favors both Siva and Russ Smith. The Huskies are a very guard heavy team and will likely try to run with Louisville.

The Louisville Cardinals were the No. 1 team in many preseason polls, but lost an early five-point decision to Duke in the Bahamas without star center Gorgui Dieng. Now, after the Blue Devils and Michigan were dealt their first losses over the weekend, Rick Pitino’s Cards set atop the AP poll for only the second time in history. The later part of the notation seems ironic with...

For a second straight year a team made a big time statement in the Sugar Bowl as Louisville took down the mighty Florida Gators, who were ranked 3rd in the nation, by a score of 33-23, a score that wasn't totally indicative of how that game went. The MVP of that game? Cardinals QB Teddy Bridgewater, who...

When the new AP and USA Today college basketball polls are released on Monday, there’s a good chance you’ll see the Louisville Cardinals sitting on top of them. With Duke losing to North Carolina State on Saturday, and Michigan falling to Ohio State on Sunday, the Cards would appear to be next in line to sit at number one. Duke could still make a claim for the top spot since...
