Junior guard Jamar Briscoe has left the Charlotte 49ers program. The 49ers say Briscoe has been granted a release to speak with other schools in order to transfer. Coach Alan Major says in a statement that he appreciates Briscoe's contribution to the program. Briscoe transferred to Charlotte from North Carolina Central following the 2008-09 season to play for coach Bobby Lutz, who left the program shortly after. Briscoe was Charlotte's starting point guard two years ago, averaging 12.5 points per game and three assists. But he lost his starting job this past season to freshman Pierria Henry. Briscoe averaged 7.3 points and 1.1 assists in 11 starts.
