It goes without saying that the one final piece for Louisville’s 2014 recruiting class is a front-court player. Rick Pitino even said as much on Tuesday afternoon at his press conference.
The current trio of commitments from Quentin Snider, Shaqquan Aaron and JaQuan Lyle already has Louisville’s 2014 class ranked No. 2 in the country. The addition of a top notch big man could help them slide to the top spot.
We’ve known about the top targets; Trey Lyles, Cliff Alexander and Goodluck Okonoboh, but there is a new name in the mix that you may want to keep your eye on. Angel Delgado, a four-star power forward from the Dominican Republic isn’t a top target for Pitino and his staff, but the interest level is definitely rising.
Delgado is a little bit of a late bloomer and is just now starting to receive serious interest from high level schools. He’s currently ranked as the 13th best power forward in the 2014 class. Delgado attends Redemption Christian Academy in Troy, N.Y.
