Pitt Makes Top 7 for 2025 3-Star WR With Panthers Connection

Pitt extended Scott an offer last December, with Kade Bell and former wide receivers coach Tiquan Underwood leading the recruiting chase, but he’s been on the Panthers’ radar for a while now. It helps that the staff has been in and out while recruiting Johnson.

Scott made it out to Pittsburgh most recently for the Blue-Gold Spring Game on April 13, and he was in town last January for Junior Day and attended the Cincinnati game last September.

Scott has been able to establish a strong bond with the Panthers that was formed even before the offer arrived in December.

“I’ve always had a relationship with the University of Pittsburgh, even before I got the offer,” Scott said. “One of my best friends, Kenny Johnson, is at Pitt now and when he got the offer, they told me that they liked me. Coach Underwood was the one who offered me and when he did, he told me that we love you, we love your tape, and we want you here.”

Scott isn’t the biggest wideout, but he’s a lightning-quick playmaker with legitimate track star speed (10.50 100-yard dash at Dallastown), and he showed his versatility as a junior.

Scott did a little bit of everything for Dallastown last season, completing 11-of-18 pass attempts for 170 yards and a touchdown, racking up 40 carries for 307 yards and four touchdowns and hauling in 33 receptions for 493 yards (14.9 yards per reception) and five touchdowns.

He was a two-way star for the Wildcats, too, recording 15 tackles (10 solo), a tackle for loss and four interceptions.

Scott hasn’t been ranked by the major recruiting services (247Sports, Rivals and On3), but he does hold a 5.5 Rivals Rating. And as he goes on visits and makes camp appearances, his stock should continue to rise.

It will be important to lock Scott into an official visit this summer and for Scott to continue to build a relationship with new wide receivers coach JJ Laster.

Pitt currently holds two commitments in the class of 2025, three-star defensive lineman Trevor Sommers (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) and three-star quarterback Mason Heintschel (Oregon, Ohio), and there’s an unclaimed Pat Signal out there, too.
