There was no bigger, or sadder story line to come out of college basketball’s ‘Rivalry Week’ than an injury to Kentucky superstar Nerlens Noel on Tuesday night . Noel hurt his knee against Florida and on Wednesday it was revealed that the future NBA superstar will miss the remainder of the year with a torn ACL.

By sheer happenstance, my good friend Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio was set to join me on my podcast even before the injury, and on Wednesday he was nice enough to hop on even as the news was breaking to discuss it all.
Trust me when I say that no one, anywhere has a better gauge on all things Kentucky sports, and Matt and I talked ...

Devastating injuries are a part of sports, but when that injury is completely preventable it’s even worse. I’m talking of course about Nerlens Noel, the Kentucky Wildcats’ superstar center who never should have been. When players become superstars in college, we never seem to question the NBA’s policy towards draft eligibility, where a player must be a year removed from his...
The Nerlens Noel ACL injury is a game-changer to say the least. Noel has probably played his last games of college basketball, his final days with the Kentucky Wildcats. According to Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, he has a torn ACL. The Nerlens Noel ACL injury will now end his college basketball career and he’ll begin the recovery process for the NBA Draft. He would have...
Kentucky’s 19-point loss to the sixth-ranked Florida Gators probably hurts, but the bigger issue for the Wildcats is the injury of Nerlens Noel. The Wildcats’ star freshman (who recently set a school record with 12 blocks against Ole Miss) had a rough landing after jumping to block a fast-break layup by Florida’s Mike Rosario. Noel’s left foot hit the padded base of the basket...
Witnessing All-Everything Kentucky freshman, Nerlens Noel, lying on the court, writhing in pain, was devastating for the Wildcats and college basketball fans around the country. In UK’s loss to #7 Florida on Tuesday, the 6’10” big man was injured on the ultimate hustle play, and went down in a heap after running into the basket support. [...]
Kentucky freshman Nerlens Noel was scheduled for an MRI on his
left knee Wednesday after X-rays were negative.
Kentucky freshman Nerlens Noel will miss the rest of the season
with a torn ACL.
UPDATE: Nerlens Noel has torn his ACL and is out for the year. His draft status is still unknown.
It happened in an instant and sucked out the energy from the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. In one moment was a display of spectacular athleticism and in the next one of sheer agony and dread.
Nerlens Noel is exactly as advertised at this point of his career. He is extremely...
In the aftermath of people suggesting South Carolina All American defensive end Jadeveon Clowney sit out this season to prevent injury, and Kentucky center Nerlens Noel tearing his ACL a few days ago, some good news has come out just in case it was worse.
Kentucky head coach John Calipari confirmed that Noel had already taken out a $10 million dollar injury insurance policy before...
If there were any questions about Florida's status in the Southeastern Conference following a loss at Arkansas last week, the Gators put those to rest Tuesday night. With another lopsided win in league play. And against defending national champion Kentucky, which had freshman star Nerlens Noel go down with a knee injury.
After a competitive first few minutes, the Florida Gators started hitting their shots. Then they started getting out in transition. Kentucky didn’t help their cause by committing turnover after turnover. The Gators took full advantage of the miscues, and the route was on. On that night, Florida was just flat out better than the ‘Cats. While the ‘Cats never gave up on the game...
