Ryan Nicholas had 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead Portland over Loyola Marymount 68-64 Saturday night. Anthony Ireland led Loyola Marymount with 22 points and four rebounds. Kevin Bailey scored 14 points for Portland, returning to the lineup after surgery on a broken nose. Thomas van der Mars had 11 points, and Derrick Rodgers had 10 points and nine assists for Portland (8-10, 1-2, West Coast). Loyola Marymount led 31-21 at halftime. Portland shot 54.7 percent from the field for the game, while the Lions shot 37.7 percent.
