Coach Pitino met with the media this afternoon to recap Louisville’s win over Memphis and preview the game against Florida International tomorrow evening in the Billy Minardi Classic. Pitino will coach against his son, Richard, a former Louisville assistant who is now the head coach at FIU. Here is a full recap from the press conference. Pitino says Gorgui’s latest visit with the doctor didn’t go as well as he had hoped. At this time it doesn’t look like Gorgui will play against Kentucky. Van Treese hasn’t practiced. He’ll play sparingly against FIU. SVT is still suffering from left knee injury. Pitino says he was very proud of his team’s heart in the road win against Memphis. He wasn’t proud of the defense and says he team has struggled defensively since Gorgui went down.
