Somehow Bleacher Report managed to report this story before I could, and he’s in my own fraternity (I wouldn’t have been as upset if it was Deadspin). Rakeem Christmas, better known as “Rock” among his brothers, is indeed the tallest and coolest person in our fraternity AEPi (I can already hear Comstock making jokes about our “coolness” and lack of height). To answer your next question, yes, AEPi is a national Jewish fraternity but it seems pretty irrelevant to point out. Rakeem came to the house his freshman year and made new friends each time. It came to the point where he personally asked to be apart of the brotherhood, and he was gladly accepted as an honorary brother. Ever since he only does the AEPi handshake when he sees brothers. This would be pretty weird if anybody else did that every time. Our first handshake was in Chipotle on Marshall Street, just makes that place that much more special. Now usually when players are associated with frats people assume the worst. For Rakeem this is not the case, as basketball is his first priority, and the same for everybody else on the team. This explains the Final Four bid. Tonight, all of Syracuse campus will be rooting for their beloved Orange as hard if not harder than we did in 2003, but I can assure you that nobody on campus will be cheering harder for Christmas than his own fraternity. -Schotz
