Finally, Florida State has won a basketball game again and is back to an even .500 with a win over the North Florida Ospreys. For the most part, they did what they were supposed to do, making most of UNF's 3s tough to shoot, and limiting everyone not named Chaz Lanier on the UNF side.

While you certainly expect FSU to win games like these, it certainly has looked tough the last few weeks. Getting any type of win is going to feel good at this point. The defense held UNF scoreless for about a stretch of 6 and a half minutes, and that allowed the Seminoles to go on a 14-0 run and put the game on ice.

We all knew UNF was going to shoot a lot of threes, but even I wasn't prepared for exactly how many it was going to be. North Florida shot an insane 46 3s, compared to just 14 2s. It's absurd and I love it, especially considering that Florida State was able to win.

Florida State would go on to win 91-75.

Florida State was able to dominate the glass tonight against a smaller North Florida team, which can be a concern considering a lot of long rebound opportunities from so many 3-pointers. They really did a great job on the offensive glass, grabbing 15 offensive rebounds which led to 23 second-chance points. Combine that with shooting 50.7% from the floor, and it was good to see some made shots again.

Darin Green Jr. led Florida State with 24 points, on his way to his 1500th career point, plus a few more. He was money from distance all game long, shooting 6/8 from deep, and was a consistent presence for the team all night.

Jalen Warley was in double figures for the first time since the Colorado game, finishing with 12 points. He was aggressive and was getting to the free-throw line, something he needs to continue to do.

Taylor Bol Bowen gave Florida State some really great minutes, finishing with 9 points and 6 rebounds. He had one chase-down block that was called a foul late in the second half, but it was a really impressive play. I'd love to see him continue to get minutes, because he can make an impact.

Primo Spears was also in double figures, with 12 points. He still wasn't the most efficient, but was a perfect 5/5 from the free-throw line and continued to be aggressive. Baba Miller would join him with a late bucket to get to 10 points. Miller had a couple of really impressive passes to open up the second half that led to made shots.

Chaz Lanier led all scorers with 22 points for UNF, but it did take him 15 3-point attempts to get there. No one else was in double figures for UNF.

Florida State will be back at home Friday night at 7 p.m. against Winthrop.
